travel europe italy veneto isola san michele

The Isola Cimitero di San Michele is a small island next to Venice that is easily visable from the vaparetto to Murano and Burano.
It was combined with San Cristoforo when the canal between was filled in 1836.
According to Wikipedia, many well known people are buried there including Igor Stravinsky and Ezra Pound and it is still being used.
I have never gone ashore on the island, but its church and large wall is quite impressive from the lagoon.
Perhaps I'll get a chance on a future trip.
Rating is based on passing impressions.
